I’m starting this newsletter with no true expectations, more like an experiment to practise my communication and writing skills and share things I enjoy each week. Feel free to let me know what you think about it.

As a big Apple fan, how can I not talk about iOS 17? It came out on 18/09/23 and I have to say, some features are very cool and useful. I will list my favourite so far.

Okay let’s face this. You are travelling to your annual trip too… I don’t know, Tenerife. What would your mother ask you to do? Yes, that’s where ‘check in’ comes in. It is now possible to ask your iPhone to send an automatic text when you reach certain places that you design. It’s easy and you’ll never leave your mother worrying if you reached the place safely.

If you like me don’t want to listen to 56 minutes audio, now you don’t have to. In the app messages you will now see a transcript of each word in the audio. Bye bye audio hostage takers. As of now, it only works in English but we can safely assume that more languages will follow.

The last few years have been the realm of stickers. I’ve made plenty, received thousands and seen millions. But, all this magic in few pixel images was reserved for others, not for Apple users. But now, thanks to the amazing background removal feature, we can create our own stickers from any photo in our gallery; and let me tell you, we needed this.

Who doesn’t like how easy and efficient Airdrop is? Except for Android users of course, everyone loves it. With iOS 17, you can now send contacts directly with Airdrop, and there’s nothing more satisfying than the animation it makes. Just pop two iPhones nearby and… watch the magic unfold.

Notion truly deserves the spotlight this week. It is an amazing and powerful app to organise every aspect of a project. Takes some time to get used to it and it’s not the most intuitive, but once you get the ball rolling, it’s unstoppable. It has built in IA to help with lots of writing and researching. Oh and did I forget to mention? It’s completely free! Of course one can upgrade to get more stuff, but the basic plan has already plenty of features. Check it out and let me know what you think.

Oppenheimer was a movie I was expecting to watch for a long time. My expectations were through the roof same as my excitement. Let me tell you, it managed to meet all of them. Oppenheimer, directed by Christopher Nolan, it’s simply a masterpiece based on a true dark, piece of the history of the world, that was told in a great way that conceives an important message and a great entertainment.
